    Verdict

Prince Noel was a big improver last season and is taken to win first time out this year at the expense of Hula Ballew and Celtic Step. The selection ran some fair races in defeat before getting his head in front at Musselburgh last autumn. He then went onto win three times on the all weather at Wolverhampton rising in the weights as a consequence. His mark of 70 could be seen to be a little unfair but if able to be at his best first time out he holds every chance. Hula Ballew has the advantage of fitness and has run well on all three starts this season. He was not beaten far at Carlisle last week and if able to repeat that form he has to be treated with respect. Celtic Step won two races last year as a two year old and caught the eye on his seasonal reappearance when second at Thirsk so he is another to watch in the betting market. But for the winner we return to Prince Noel.
