Kevin Ryan won this 12 months ago with Flawed Genius and is represented this year with Cobo Bay, who has been running well on the Polytrack this winter and made an encouraging return to turf at Naas when a close third in a decent handicap and he has every chance of landing this valuable event for the yard again but narrow preference is for the Michael Dods-trained OSTEOPATHIC REMEDY, who gets the vote over Esoterica. Jim Goldie's gelding lacks a recent run but the yard is in good from so lack of an outing need not be problem and the seven-year-old has every chance off a 5lb higher mark than when scoring at Newmarket on his final start of last season. Tom Tate's Balcarce Nov has his first outing back in the UK having run creditably at Meydan during the winter and has to be considered along with Tim Easterby's Collateral Damage, who is better than he showed in the Lincoln last time. Ruth Carr's Dubai Dynamo has more solid claims now that the stable is back among the winners, while the David Nicholls-trained Mirrored seems a shade high in the weights. Michael Dods has a strong hand in this race saddling Tiger Reigns, who Phillip Makin rides, and he looks the pick on jockey bookings over Osteopathic Remedy but the latter ran much better than expected on fast ground here last time when a close second to Snow Bay and he looks worth siding with especially as rain is forecast.
