This is a competitive-looking handicap-hurdle with plenty in with chances but we will shortlist McBain, Nanga Parbat, Jockser, Blaeberry and New Entic, with the Paul Nicholls-trained Nanga Parbat a tentative choice. He unseated his rider early in the race when sent off favourite at this course in January. The five-year-old had previously tried to give weight and a beating to older rivals at Sandown but found one too good for him that day. He won similar events to this at Wincanton and Newbury last year and he tops our shortlist here. McBain has won two races over this course-and-distance and obviously likes the track, however he looks to be a bit too high in the weights at present and can be opposed. Jockser has been running into places but hasn't got his nose in front in over a year. He will have a featherweight to carry in this race but he is held on form by Nanga Parbat. New Entic represents the in-form Gary Moore yard but the biggest danger to our selection looks to be Blaeberry who represents the Emma Lavelle stable. She won a similar race over course and distance earlier this month and she looks the type who could defy the seven-pound rise. In a competitive race our selection is Nanga Parbat.
