In depth

Verdict

The five-year-old Hugos Horse led for a long way at Ludlow and will know more today. Heluvagood beat more experienced rivals at Exeter last month and it’s a surprise that Roll The Dough is still qualified for novice events having raced 15 times over the larger obstacles, winning three of his last five. Sackett has been in good form over timber and has already won a point-to-point while Colin Tizzard’s Christmas In April looks the type to make a chaser. Marble Moon has won four times over hurdles this year and the mare Kentford Heiress also warrants a mention. AGAMEMMON needs to bounce back from a couple of below-par runs but it’s too soon to write of Tom George’s gelding, who is only a pound higher than when winning at Southwell in the spring and now wears cheekpieces.
