      Verdict

      CHEF D'EQUIPE has run nine times over hurdles without winning but has scored twice over fences including a Sandown handicap under his owner/rider. He should have too much class for this opposition, the best of who looks to be Soldier Of Love, a close second on his bumper debut at Ascot but well beaten in two starts over timber. Sign Of War was outpaced throughout at Leicester though that was over the minimum on very fast ground so this may suit him better. Long River Dancer was beaten a distance on his bumper debut at Ludlow while point-to-point winner Bastante has been tailed off in both starts over hurdles.
