Verdict

Disappointingly just the two runners face the starter for this novices' hurdle in which BERGO looks to face a simple task to defeat Faraday. Neil Mulholland's gelding is only rated 64 in comparison to the selection's rating of 133, was well held on the flat at Kempton recently and he will need to improve considerably on all known form to trouble Bergo. The Evan Williams-trained gelding was formerly trained in Germany and has done well since joining current connections in the autumn. Bergo lost no caste in defeat behind Dee Ee Williams at Ascot in November and comfortably landed the odds when taking a novices' hurdle at Huntingdon last month. A reproduction of either of those runs would be more than sufficient to see him land this comfortably.
