Verdict

CLASSIC ROLE can defy a penalty to land this handicap chase at the main expense of Carthys Cross and No Greater Love. The selection was an easy winner last time out and as he is relatively new to the chasing game there should be more to come. He does have an extra 7lbs on his back here but it should not be enough to stop him. Carthys Cross should be suited by this slight step-up in trip, but he is far from straightforward and he is not one to trust. We are quite happy to take him on here, which means the bigger danger could be No Greater Love who ran well on his first start for his new yard last time when he chased home Dream Catcher at Fontwell. That was over hurdles, but he has won winning form over fences and if he can build on that improved form last time then he could be a serious player. Inmate is a course and distance winner so that is a plus for him. However, there should be more to come from Classic Role who is a confident pick.
