Lightly raced THE NIGHTINGALE gets the nod here and is expected to see of closest rivals Midnight Sail and Rodney's Pillar. The selection comes from the inform yard of Paul Nicholls and though his last outing was a little disappointing he is expected to improve. The gelding was a winner at Taunton in November and has plenty of potential; connections expect him to be even more effective in contests such as this. Midnight Sail put in a good performance last time out and though failing to make the placing should have come on from that run and should have no problems sticking three miles. The six-year-old was a winner at Ascot back in December and if he can recapture his form of last year then he should have no trouble making the frame here. Alan King's Rodney's Pillar did more than enough last time out to suggest he can at least make the money here. He'll have come on for that his first race for almost two years and is expected to improve. The Falklander will need to show some significant improvement if he is to pose a serious threat here as will 11-year-old Which Pocket who will need to prove his stamina at this trip. Our selection goes to The Nightingale.
