Distant Sound rates the most reliable and consistent of this field and seems sure to be there or thereabouts as a result but he seems to be more or less where the handicapper wants him at present despite being the obvious each-way play, MIDTECH STAR has yet to show any worthwhile form over hurdles and was tailed off on the Flat last time but previously had been performing with credit, including a couple of successes on the all-weather during the winter campaign. He doesn't really look that well treated over hurdles but does have room for progression as a four-year-old with only five starts over timber and is a speculative choice. Lady Persephone disappointed last time but impressed with the style of her success previously at Wincanton and must be shortlisted. Expect the promising William Featherstone to delay his challenge as late as possible while Milan Of Crystal would have a chance at her best.
