A competitive field goes to post for this handicap chase and the main protagonists appear to be Stanmore, Thunderpoint and Avalon Buck and we will take a chance on Thunderpoint. The gelding was a good second last time out behind Kety Star and with the step up in trip sure to suit he will be hard to beat. Stanmore rates the main danger he was a fair sixth over an inadequate trip last time out. The step back up in trip is sure to suit but all his best form of late has come with more cut in the ground so for that reason he is opposed on this occasion. Avalon Buck is another that would be worthy of consideration at his best but he has pulled up on his last two runs and can not be backed with any confidence, he is also better with more cut in the ground. Of the remainder Uncle Teddy and Ms Trude are from shrewd yards and are worth noting in the market but we are happy to side with Thunderpoint.
