The market should prove a useful guide with four newcomers on show, of which Private Walker and Frites make most appeal on paper. They are preferred in that order as the Twiston-Davies team has a steady strike rate with bumper performers. Apache Princess was well beaten on debut and now returns after wind surgery, whilst Plaisir Des Flos didn't shape too badly last time at Wincanton but hasn't been seen since early December. In contrast, FORT RANDALL made his debut in late May when sent off an unconsidered 125/1 chance. However, he stayed on nicely enough to come home a respectable fourth of 11 at Ballinrobe and that run sets the standard here.

Frites Marcel gelding out of Verge.
Joker Jack (IRE) Mahler gelding out of Cairnsforth.
Plaisir Des Flos (FR) 125-1 (11-0) Visibility reduced by fog, raced in last, outpaced over 3f out, ridden and kept on from 2f out, not pace to challenge, 5th of 12, 9 1/4l behind Meatloaf (11-0) at Wincanton 1m 7f (5) gs in Dec.
Private Walker (IRE) Milan gelding out of Jeunopse.
Apache Princess 40-1 (10-10) Held up towards rear on outside, some headway 6f out, weakened over 4f out, 10th of 11, 23 3/4l behind Miss Applejack (10-10) at Ludlow 2m (4) gs in May.
