In depth

Verdict

Stoneacre Fred can follow up at the expense of Sonderborg, Tacid and Louisiade. The Peter Grayson yard is starting to tick over nicely again, and Stoneacre Fred added to the tally when successful over seven furlongs here last time. He travelled on the bit throughout that day and was value for more than the winning margin. The step back up to a mile will not bother him and so Stoneacre Fred has plenty going for him here. Sonderborg also hit winning form last time when narrowly beating another of today's rivals, Tacid. The weights slightly favour the latter now, but there should be little between the pair again. Louisiade cost his supporters dear at Kempton, but the return to this slower surface over a mile will hopefully bring about some improvement in him. The market could well throw up another potential challenger for the honours, but Stoneacre Fred can prove up to the task.
