Verdict

Archimedes hasn’t looked like winning since landing last year’s renewal off a higher mark. Pearl Acclaim has every chance despite carrying 6lb extra as he drops down a grade on the back of a course and distance success while SOMETHING LUCKY is also penalised after landing a double with last week’s victory here. But Mick Appleby’s charge has won off much higher marks in the past and gets the vote to go in again. Crosse Fire has been hinting at a return to winning ways and a recent fourth here is stronger form than Decision Maker’s placed effort in a maiden.
