Nonrunner
A poor contest to commence proceedings and we'll take LORD OF THE DANCE to score, while Mountain Forest may emerge as the leading danger. The selection comes here in good form, having made the frame twice already this month and he remains on the same mark of 59 as when runner-up at Kempton over this trip last time. The headgear is retained here and of course there is the chance that it won't be as effective second time around. James Eustace's colt also has to prove himself on this slower surface, but there is enough encouragement in the pedigree to suggest that it is a risk worth taking. Mountain Forest is also on the same mark as when putting in a couple of reasonable recent runs at Kempton and Lingfield over this trip. One previous try here proved abortive, but it was not necessarily the surface that beat him that day and he is worth another try. If You Knew Suzy is proven on Fibresand, having run three decent races here in the past, and the handicapper is beginning to give her a chance, so she is not ruled out, while Elliwan is just 2lbs higher than when scoring here over 1m 4f in March, though whether this drop back to a mile will suit is very much open to question. Westport and Mojeerr have frame claims, but the win vote goes to Lord Of The Dance.
