In depth
Verdict
Hennessy Island ran well last time and this 3-year-old from the Terry Mills yard looks a good bet to land the nightcap; Topazes and Novestar are others to consider. The selection chased home Magical Song here last time but that was a good run as the front pair came well clear of the rest of the field. This extra furlong should suit and he looks sure to run a big race. Topazes is a nice colt from the Michael Bell yard if the market speaks in his favour on his handicap debut then he could be worth an investment. Novestar was well beaten at Beverley last time but he is a different proposition here. However, this drop in trip is not sure to suit and for that reason he is opposable. Flower Appeal hails from a shrewd yard and she could provide some each-way value, but again this drop in trip is not sure to suit. Hennessy Island looks a progressive type and he can win the finale.
