O'TOOLE is the call with Bestofthebrownies and Bougoure the others of note. Philip Hobbs has always rated the nine-year-old and while he isn't quite as capable over chase fences as hurdles, his mark reflects that and with regular pilot Richard Johnson aboard, there are plenty of ticks in the right boxes. Bestofthebrownies has been campaigned over two miles in the past. He has exhibited form at this part of the season previously so the market is watched here. Bougoure looked to need the run first time out this season. Although a maiden over chase fences, a perusal of his form suggests that he has taken on some of the better Northern novices. Firthofforth has yet to finish in his last four starts. Polar Gunner probably acts better on much softer going than will be obtaining here. Gaelic Flight has performed well at lesser levels. King Troy was formerly campaigned in Ireland before joining Alan King. Our Jasper, who won back to back Novice chases in 2007 is probably best of the rest. O'Toole is our idea of the winner.
