FINBIN can round off the card on a high as he looks for his second career win under rules; onto the shortlist go Supreme Team, Patchoulie Conti and Solway Storm. Harry Hogarth is yet to send a winner to the track but he has a chance of sending out his first Southwell jumps winner here. Starting handicaps on a mark of 79 in March, he has shown that it was a generous perch by running two much improved races, including a win last time out at Newcastle. He has a 6lb rise in the weights for that win but he evidently acts well on this ground and is taken to win again. Patrixbourne rates as a danger having stepped up markedly on all efforts previous when he filled second at Hereford last time. The first-time blinkers seemed to have a big effect there but he has been raised 5lb for that effort and they will need to work once again if he is to win. Cinaman is working his way down the handicap but for good reason as recent performances have not been too sweet, Patchoulie Conti ran a better race last time at Hexham in the process suggesting that this mark of 83 for a first handicap start may be workable, whilst blinkers are applied for the first time on Magic Of The Isles. Towards the bottom of the weights Solway Storm and Gagarin make a modicum of appeal, although the latter's career is yet to take-off so to speak, and so we are happy to return to Finbin as the nomination.
