A chance is taken here on CHARLOTTES WEBB as Tor Sturgis' mare is chosen ahead of Daurica, Edgevine and Moonlit Path. The selection put up a much improved performance last time out at Wincanton where she filled third spot behind the progressive Caoba who has since franked the form. Considering she blundered late on she is rated better than the winning margin and it may be that this quick ground is what she needs. Blazing Diva is rated 5lb superior but she has become frustrating to follow. Connections will be hoping that a drop back in distance will see this former winning point-to-pointer in a better light. Daurica ran well on her first hurdling start at Uttoxeter to suggest that a race may come her way sooner rather than later, Edgevine is a half-sister to the useful Sovetica and she may appreciate racing back against her own sex, whilst Lake Wakatipu is back over hurdles following a poor run at Wolverhampton. The interesting runner is Moonlit Path who has started at double-figure prices on each start to date. Considering her powerful connections she must be of interest if the market speaks in her favour, especially as her sire was very effective on quick ground. Hurdling newcomers Leader Blue and Sophisticated Lady need market checks but it is Charlottes Webb who is preferred.
