        Verdict

        A poor handicap and not one to dwell on and we will take Cadwell to defy top weight, with Only A Grand, The Power Of Phil and Winged Farasi others to consider. Tim Pitt's runner handled the track well enough when third here last week and races from the same mark here. A mile is probably his optimum trip and with little else red hot we'll side with him. Only A Grand has one win from 16 attempts so far and steps up to a mile for the first time. His pedigree suggests that that should not be a problem, though it is strange that connections have waited so long before trying him so we wonder if there are stamina doubts. The Power Of Phil was disqualified last time when Russell Kennemore failed to weight in, but has bits of form that give him a chance, Pretty Game looks unlikely to get home over the trip and Winged Farasi looks a better proposition from a mark 2lb lower than his last turf win, though he has not looked overjoyed with this surface on a couple of previous tries. It's ordinary stuff then and Cadwell is a token selection.
