Verdict

A wide open handicap here and there is very little between many of the leading lights but the principals look to be Headland, Xpres Digital, Tally and Mister Mal and the vote goes to Headland. The selection was a fair fifth in a better race behind Pertemps Magus last time out over seven furlongs. The drop back to six furlongs should suit and at a course that her likes he is taken to regain the winning thread. Xpres Digital rates the main danger he was well beaten in better grade last time but this is much easier and he remains on a fair mark so he will not be far away. Tally was a fair sixth behind Fonthill Road last time and is another with place claims but his best form of late has been on turf and for that reason he is opposed. Mister Mal has dropped to a handy mark and ran as if about to hit form when third behind On The Trail last time but he is far from consistent so can not be backed with any confidence. Of the remainder Senor Bond is from a yard in form and is worth noting in the market but for the winner we return to Headland.
