    Verdict

Kumkakawa has been running much better than his form figures suggest and he is taken to get the better of Smoothie and Iceni Warrior. The selection was off the track for a year before returning last month. He has had three races in pretty quick succession and has gone well each time. He wasn't beaten far behind Government last time out and a repeat effort should be good enough in this company. Smoothie returned to winning ways over a similar trip at Kempton last time out, beating today's rival Iceni Warrior by half a lengthh. There should be very little between them again and they should both be fighting for some place money. Padre Nostra has shown a liking for this course and is another with each-way claims, but Kumakawa, trying this trip for the first time, looks the pick of the weights and he gets our vote.
