In depth

Verdict

Haroum takes the eye in this company and is selected ahead of Faith And Reason and Thunderclap. The last named has held his form well and, despite being a son of Royal Applause, he appears to be well suited by a test of stamina. Brian Hughes got acquainted with him at Uttoxeter last month and it is noteworthy he keeps the ride tonight. Faith And Reason is unexposed over timber and is one to seriously monitor in the betting. He has little to prove in a race of this nature and can give his rider a safe conveyance. Mycean Prince and Fantasy legend are others to note in the betting for signs of each-way support. However, Haroum showed a liking for this course when placed in a similar grade last time out. And, as Michael McAlister has built up a good relationship with the gelding, this appears to be a good opening for the partnership to strike.
