A competitive handicap chase to get proceedings underway with some exposed sorts in the line up long with horses that have shown little but are open to improvement. My Condor is a tentative selection despite the fact Donald McCain's charge has shown little in three outings this summer. A dual winner last summer on quick ground, he was not disgraced off marks higher than today's on autumn ground but following a winter break he has not returned to anything like his old form of late. He did however display some promise last time, leading for most of the journey before giving way in the straight and on a course that favours bold running types, he can be expected to be the firing line. Vibe is a consistent sort who continues to fill the placings but is unable to put his head in front. He was comprehensively out-pointed last time, his finishing effort appearing rather laboured and is beginning to look exposed. Ground Breaker was one place behind Vibe last time and could be given a squeak on picks of his form while Red Man Ray represents a combination that always deserve respect when teaming up and an improved showing from him is almost inevitable given his unexposed profile and his trainers strategy in progressing his charges. At bigger prices Good Old Days is one who if returning to anything like his old form would come into the equation but in what is an extremely difficult opener, My Condor is the selection.
