The revised terms give Mercurious every chance of reversing form with Magic Red, who is sure to be bearing down on the selection if he runs his usual race. Salut Saint Cloud will be dangerous to dismiss and is open to plenty of improvement at the trip. He went well enough over a mile and a half here in July and should again give a good account of himself. Black Legend, who has been plying his trade over hurdles since arriving from Ireland, is also worth noting in the betting, as he is to be assisted by one of the more experienced jockeys still eligible to compete at this level. His latest start suggested that he has a race within him somewhere along the line and he could also figure prominently as things unfold. However, it may be worth siding with Mercurious, who is thriving on racing at the moment. Due to go up 1lb at the weekend, John Mackie's charge has a limited time to make his advantage at the weights with Magic Red count, so we expect him to seize the opportunity before the assessor has the chance to get to grips with him once more.
