Verdict

Most of these enter the equation but CALCULATING may prove to be the answer. This race is named in honour of Victory Quest and there'd be no winner more fitting than Sue Lamyman's eleven time course winner. He's sure to be popular here but it's a long time since he has proved capable of winning from a mark as high as this. Augustus John and William's Way have both proved to be fairly consistent performers of late and should get involved with the latter not too badly treated on the best of his form. Spiritonthemount is still a maiden and looks up against it but Calculating ran his best race for some time when last seen and may be able to capitalise on his current mark which is 23lbs below the mark from which he last scored. He has an excellent record at this track and no problem with the trip which makes Calculating the call.
