It's difficult to get away from ELLIWAN who is taken to get the better of Lady Longcroft and That'll Do Nicely. The former inmate of Mark Johnston was once rated as high as eighty but opened his account from a mark of just fifty three when comfortably justifying favouritism in an apprentices' race over course and distance. He escapes a penalty and could prove to be one of the more popular selections of the day. That'll Do Nicely has yet to race on this surface or over this trip but he has been shaping as though he'd appreciate a stiffer test of stamina on the polytrack and could make a race of it. Lady Longcroft has been made favourite for three of her five starts so is clearly well regarded and may prove capable of better than she showed last time as she failed to settle behind a slow pace. She doesn't appear to be that well handicapped though unlike the selection, Elliwan.
