From our shortlist of Westcote, Craic Sa Ceili, Blakeshall Quest, Molinia and Set Alight, we will opt for Set Alight. The selection has improved for cheekpieces and has won her last two races, appearing to hold more improvement in the process. She is, effectively, nine pounds higher than for the most recent of those wins but, already a course and distance winner, should give you another good run for your money. Craic Sa Ceili is four pounds higher than for her Wolverhampton nursery win in November 2004 and, while she has been beaten since, must surely be capable of running well from today's mark if fully in the mood. Of the others, Westcote has been running well of late and has won a Wolverhampton maiden, but it's difficult to fully quantify that victory, while Molinia might fare better over this trip than the mile she ran over last time, and even though Blakeshall Quest has been mainly tried at five and six furlongs, she ran well as a three-year-old over today's trip. With her inclination being to come good at this time of year, do not rule out a good run from her. Overall, though, we like the look of Set Alight.
