In the claimer, we opt for Romil Star, with the dangers reckoned to be Warbreck, Moon Shot, Dream Magic and Kylkenny. The selection returned to form on today's surface when chasing home Danelor over 11 furlongs last time. That was a fair effort, a repeat of which gives him reasonable enough claims of getting in amongst the action today. The Charlie Egerton-trained Warbreck won a course and distance maiden here in December and, much as he has been a bit disappointing since, a return to that level of form gives him a shout, while Moon Shot's best effort in the last year came over course and distance in March 2004, and a return to that level of form puts him in with a shout also. It is a similar story with Dream Magic if the eyeshield works for a second-successive time, while support for Kylkenny would not be completely without reason. Finally, Cornish Gold has hinted at ability and certainly does not have much in the way of weight to carry today, and Longstone Lass has certainly improved over hurdles this winter but has yet to race on the Flat. Once again, though, we return to Romil Star as the selection.
