Verdict

THIS ONES FOR EDDY CAN defy a six pound penalty to win the finale, and is selected ahead of Vogarth and Kensington, also penalised for a victory last time out. Stuart Parr comes here for just this race, and a week on from seeing his charge storm to victory in a similar event here, will be hopeful of a repeat. He's well in at the weights, despite the penalty, and has the perfect draw in stall one. Top weight Kensington is aiming for a repeat win having triumphed in this race last year, off a slightly lower mark. More recently he won last time out when a visor replaced the cheekpieces, and they're sticking with them. The negatives though are the weight and the draw. Vogarth's drop down in trip from a mile looks a plus, despite winning last time out. He clearly tired, but the jockey got a great tune out of him, and it's an unpenalised success with it having been an amateurs race. Most of these have won over course or distance, and quite a few both, including our selection, This Ones For Eddy.
