Nothing really stands out in the opener to say back me, with none of them coming into it in great form, but we'll tentatively put up CHAMBERS, ahead of Kladester and Artesium. Mark Johnson's got an excellent strike rate here, and won the corresponding contest last year. This is his only entrant on the card, and the fibre sand may be better for Chambers than the polytrack he's previously been racing on, when he's showed glimpses of promise without landing a blow. He's towards the bottom of the weights and being drawn in stall one is another plus. Kladester has won here previously, and found a 10 pounds rise too much at Kempton, so a return to this slower surface should be seen as a positive. He's the only course and distance winner, and is expected to be well supported. Artesium was placed here on Saturday and took to the surface, and a quick return over a slightly shorter trip could pay dividends. It's not a race to go overboard on, but we marginally favour the claims of Chambers.
