In depth

Verdict

Meticulous, a winner on the dirt in Dubai, has failed to take to hurdles in two starts since joining the yard of Micky Hammond and takes the eye on his British flat racing debut. However, the son of Theatrical has been so disappointing in his two starts in this country that he cannot be backed with any confidence even in a contest as lowly as this. My Bayard belied market odds when chasing home Precaster over course and distance last month and has to be respected back over this trip having been outpaced over a mile last time. Dean Ivory's So Precious has to be respected but is becoming expensive to follow and probably wants further to show her best form. The eight-year-old Aberkeen would have claims if able to reproduce his best form but has been on the downgrade for some time and the selection is White Plains. David Barron's son of Nordico is a consistent performer, the trip is ideal and he is well treated at the weights.
