Fyodor ran better at Wolverhampton last time, goes well on the Fibresand and has slipped to a more attractive mark now so the William Haggas-trained gelding looks worth chancing and gets the verdict ahead of Northern Empire and Tartatartufata. The last mentioned has shown improved form this winter but may now be a shade high in the weights so may be best watched at present. Classic Encounter has struggled against the handicapper but has slipped to a fair mark so cannot be discounted, if fit enough for his reappearance. Richard Fahey's Bo McGinty has been running consistently well of late and he has to be respected but may be a shade high in the weights. Kevin Ryan's Northern Empire is another that has been running well recently and should again be thereabouts but marginal preference is for Fyodor, who looks well treated.
