A trappy event may go to Tender Touch, with Thalys, Polish Pilot, Star Council and Astral Prince all in with a shout. Tender Touch, the mount of Richard Johnson, is a course and distance winner and has been most consistent in the main. Johnson was on board when the mare battled her way past Jamorin Dancer in June and is back over what appears to be her best trip again, according to trainer Kate Milligan. The form of Thalys's Newton Abbot second has not worked out, but he has winning form over hurdles and should also be capable of opening his account over fences in time. Polish Pilot has already done so, beating Jamorin Dancer at Market Rasen, and on a line though that horse only has a bit to find with the selection. Star Council may just need this, while Astral Prince has it to do at the weights. Tender Touch is the pick.
