Three Eagles returns to hurdling after two unsuccessful runs over the larger obstacles and although 15lbs higher than when scoring over course and distance previously is taken to resume winning ways at the main expense of Gielgud and Wildfield Rufo. The last mentioned races for the first time since running out an easy winner of an intermediate hurdle at Wetherby in May and is entitled to need the run. A similar comment applies to Paul Webber's Gielgud, who has not been seen since landing a novices' hurdle at the same venue earlier that month. His earlier form in handicap company reads well though and, if fit enough, he could be a big threat to the selection. Jonjo O'Neill's runners always warrant respect so Personal Assurance is worthy of close inspection, while Atticus Finch faces a stiff task against the weights in a race that is expected to go to Three Eagles.
