        Verdict

        AFRICA'S STAR is the form pick to land this opener at the expense of Silent Wonder and Chimbonda. The selection looks favourably weighted against his rivals and has been showing consistent form in his four races to date. He was not beaten far when fourth of eight at Lingfield last time out and if he can recapture that form he has every chance of breaking his maiden tag. Silent Wonder will pose as his biggest danger after eventually winning at Southwell last month. He had been unlucky to have finished second on five previous outings and deserved to get his head in front. That said he has to give eight pounds to the selection which may well be a task too tough for him to over come. Chimbonda ran a personal best when finishing fourth of twelve at Wolverhampton last time out and if showing that same level of form he can be in the shake up. But for the winner we return to Africa's Star.
