A race that lacks strength in depth and the vote goes to My Ace while Kindle Ball, Artemise and Hanbrin Rose rate the likeliest alternatives. Heathor Dalton's mare is fairly exposed but did put up an improved effort in a first-time visor when a close third in a Plumpton handicap last time and it is to be hoped that the application of cheek pieces can inspire further progress in a weak affair. Kindle Ball has to be geared after two recent placed efforts in slightly better company while Hanbrin Rose showed some ability when last seen but returns from an absence and is probably best watched on his occasion. Artemise has claims on her Warwick second last term but is another with something to prove returning from a lay-off after disappointing when last seen in action so My Ace looks the choice under her very capable amateur rider.
