Verdict

Macmerry Jim went close over 6f here on his debut, though disappointed over today’s trip at Ayr last time, while Sweet Bertie could go well if settling better on the back of a debut effort at Newbury. He’s preferred to Beau Tinker but several of the newcomers are of interest including Secret Box, the first foal of a Listed winner. Basilic is a half-brother to winners in the US but HONOR DAY is a full brother to a Dirt winner in North America and Kevin Ryan’s $225,000 purchase may prove the one to side with.
