Owed is our selection in a competitive affair although Punching and Elusive Hawk are sure to have their supporters. Robin Bastiman's sprinter does have a liking for this track at Southwell and if he can secure an early position, this race is potentially there for the taking. Punching has won two recent events on the turf. The ability to handle Southwell has to be taken on trust. Elusive Hawk started his career with Godolphin but was quickly discarded by the boys in blue. The four-year-old got off the mark for connections on the third start. Elusive Warrior is the archetypal Southwell specialist. Alan McCabe's charge is consistent if not exposed. Wiseman's Diamond reverts to sprinting having not stayed a mile. Grand Palace is capable but poorly drawn. The visor is taken off Tender Process after an unsuccessful try with it in April. Gleaming Spirit is lesser rated on the artificial surfaces than turf and could be one to note in the market. Steel City Boy ran a fair race at Kempton and has place claims. Owed is the pick in the most competitive race of the evening.
