Verdict

A classified stakes event to finish off the card, which means poor quality and so a narrow vote is given to Rood Boy, Kentucky Bullet and Ally Makbul are put forward as the main rivals. The selection was obviously in need of his run here in January when well behind Bolkow, as he hadn't raced for a year. He is better judged on his previous run when gamely landing a banded race over course and distance. If back to his best he should be capable of winning a race like this. Ally Makbul falls into the same category having returned from a long lay when last seen in December. She has won off much higher marks in the past and should be watched closely in the betting. The same applies to Kentucky Bullet, who is a capable enough performer on his day. This is not a race to blow the mortgage money, and so Rood Boy is just a token choice.
