Evelyn's Diamond was pulled out of an engagement at Nottingham on Wednesday and if she faces the start here she may play a part on debut against the others with experience in the field as all entries are still learning the game. Szabo's Destiny is a half-brother to the useful Virginia Hall but has plenty to find after a weak first outing. X Rated is out of a mare who won the Prix Jacques Le Marois but he has shown little in two starts. Richard Fahey is a master with the juveniles and Paul Hanagan is booked for the ride on Lexington Bay who was outclassed in the Chesham at Ascot in June. RAW SPIRIT gets the tentative vote in a competitive race. He has a Derby entry and showed some promise on debut to build upon. The testing ground at Yarmouth won't have been ideal and the jockey was patient with him on his debut. He will appreciate a step-up in trip next term, as will Encore Une Annee. Both look to have strong claims in this race, with the latter staying on strongly at Doncaster last time and she should handle the surface as a sister to a winner on the Fibresand. However, it is Raw Spirit that gets the vote.
