Verdict
It's dubious how many teenagers wearing black eye-liner will be skulking next to the racecourse at Southwell for the opening race; the I'm A Goth Nursery. MAKEYNN gets the vote having readily won when last seen on an artificial surface. Although the Fibresand is markedly different to the Polytrack at Wolverhampton, the heavy ground is likely to have put paid to the chances of Saeed Bin Suroor's option at Epsom last time and he is forgiven. He is the least exposed and having beaten Itzakindamagic before, we take the Godolphin runner to win. Mark Johnston's entry is certainly a danger having shown decent form since losing to Makeynn and this looks a favourable mark. Il Battista has won at the course before in August but was beaten comprehensively last time over a shorter trip to temper enthusiasm. Beating Harmony and My Mate Jake have more to find on their performances to date, whilst front-runner Suddenly Susan could take advantage if given an easy lead.
