Rann Na Cille, Taboor and Dodaa appear the most obvious protagonists and we are with Rann Na Cille. Paul Midgeley's charge seems to be in good fettle at present and with a helpful draw, we take her to bring her plating form to bear in handicap company. Taboor is potentially well treated on older form although the ability to handle Southwell is not a given on what we have seen thus far. Dodaa has been a revelaton of late and his up-and-at-em style has proved a boon to his backers. Connections have been forced to come here before a hefty rise at the weights and we reluctantly oppose. Jilly Why is sure to be popular with Jamie Spencer aboard but she has shown little on this surface in the past and its hard to see any change for the application of the champion jockey. Bentley invariably goes close. Limonia probably needs further but is at home on this surface. Trailblazing, Maktavish would have won many more races in this country had they been over four furlongs rather than five. Rann Na Cille is likely to be a fair price in this field and we put her in as our selection today.
