        Verdict

        Zaffeu appeared to appreciate the step up in trip last time and can land this with Kanisorn and Rebel Raider the alternatives. Zaffeu beat a very moderate bunch last time but with much the same to contend with here he should take all the beating. He has shown a liking for the fibresand which is a further encouragement. Kanisorn has not progressed since been clamied from his Italian connections and looked a non stayer last time so on that count he is passed over while Rebel Raider steps back up in distance having not been disgraced at Kempton recently over a trip short of his best. This will not take much winning and Zaffeu is our choice.

        Zaffeu 9-2 (9-6) Held up in touch, 2nd over 5f out until over 4f out, 2nd again over 2f out, stayed on to lead inside final furlong, won at W'hampton 2m 1f sll hcp (6) pol in Feb beating Perfect Storm (8-5) by 2l, 6 ran.
