HALAAK can confirm course and distance form with Bulella and also put La Capriosa in her place. The latter comes here in good form having gone close the last twice over five furlongs but the way that she has been seeing out her races doesn't suggest that a step up to six is the obvious move so we're content to pass her over. A number in this race are paying their first visits to the track and it remains to be seen how well they adapt to this unique surface so unless the market speaks dramatically we'll stick with the blindingly obvious. Halaak was in receipt of 6lbs and wearing blinkers for the first time when running on strongly to defeat Bulella by two and a half lengths last month and will actually be conceding a pound this time around once jockey's claims are accounted for. However, there should be more to come from the Simcock runner now that she's found her form and Halaak can go in again.
