In depth

Verdict

Volvalien is probably having a pipe-opener before resuming his career over fences but has each-way claims in a race like this. Last month’s Newton Abbot third Bach De Clermont won a course and distance maiden in May while any market interest in hurdling debutants Thomas Patrick, Frankie Rapper and Stoneboat Bill should be noted. BANDITRY (NAP) was in excellent form on the Flat over the summer so it was disappointing when he failed to land the odds at Worcester but he’ll have no excuses if beaten today.
