        Verdict

        HERE IN THE DARK was stepped up to a mile at Redcar last time and not beaten far in fourth. He gets a tentative vote in a tricky opener and is preferred to stablemate Cuillin Hills. Admiral Rooke finished third at Thirsk in a tougher handicap than this during the summer but that was over 6f while Barney George finished closer over 7f here last month and may do better now handicapping for the first time. The remainder have yet to threaten and are hard to recommend.
