    Verdict

Shifty Night overcame a 6lb penalty when successful over course and distance on Saturday and is taken to win again off the same mark at the main expense of Siera Spirit and Spinetail Rufous. The last mentioned made an encouraging return over seven furlongs at Lingfield last week and should strip fitter for the run. He makes more appeal than Zorn, who is held by the selection on running on Saturday and is difficult to recommend meeting that rival on identical terms. Siera Spirit is another that ran well on his recent reappearance when three lengths behind Iced Diamond at Lingfield last month. She remains unexposed and has to be respected along with On The Trail, who has been given a break since disappointing on his most recent outing two months ago. Safranine is probably better over the minimum trip and the vote goes to Shifty Night. Christine Dunnett's filly looked one to keep on the right side of when successful here over six furlongs on Thursday, from 4lbs out of the handicap, and duly followed up over the same course and distance on Saturday. The daughter of Night Shift can race off the same mark today and is hard to oppose.
