In depth

Verdict

Golden Dixie is well treated judged by official BHB ratings but preference is for Peruvian Style, who gets the vote ahead of Sir Sandrovitch. The last mentioned has been well placed by trainer Richard Fahey this winter and may strip fitter for his outing on Monday but needs to improve again to trouble the selection. Massey is well in on his best form but has not shown that for some time and of more interest may be Queen Of Night. Admittedly David Chapman's mare was disappointing here last time but that was over seven furlongs; she will be suited by the drop in trip today and receives weight all round. Henry Tun is capable of popping up at a nice price and is another worthy of a mention, along with James Toller's St Austell but the vote goes to Peruvian Style. Nick Littmoden's gelding has been running well in handicaps over further of late but appreciated the minimum trip at this time last year and a chance is taken that the return to five furlongs will bring about the necessary improvement.
