      Verdict

Wide open as you would expect here, with Estoille, Mr Spliffy, Joyce's Choice and Torrent four to consider and we take Estoille to prevail. The selection is in cracking form at present in these sort of contests and has twice shown up well in defeat, with a Yarmouth win punctuating those banded runs. Her latest effort over course and distance saw her an unlucky quarter-length second to Cargo, having had to be switched late on. We take her to defy a 5lb rise and get back in front here. Mr Spliffy showed a bit of a return to form last time out at Catterick in August and comes here fresh. He is more than capable of going well off this mark, but he has never produced his best after a break and so is overlooked here. Joyce's Choice is another in good heart at present and was not far behind Estoille last time, but is now 3lb worse off and therefore it looks unlikely he can reverse the form. Of the remainder Torrent is not the most reliable but he acts on the surface and is back to a winning mark, so he cannot be dismissed. Nevertheless we take topweight Estoille to score.
