A sporting vote in this race goes to Wynbury Flyer ahead of Polar Gunner and Ideal de Bois Beury. In first-time blinkers, Wynbury Flyer has to be considered from what is now a very fair mark, while York Rite has placed efforts from today's rating. Polar Gunner ran pretty well back over fences over course and distance last time and, lightly raced, could yet have better to come. Risky Way won over fences from an 11-pound higher mark in February 2003, but needs to pick up on recent efforts. If Del Trotter could get back to the form of his course and distance win of November 2002 he would have a very good chance, but he has not sparkled of late. Finally, Ideal de Bois Beury has also failed to sparkle of late but has enough in the way of fairly recent form to warrant more than a cursory glance from what is a falling mark. He could go well but, for the winner, we will stick with Wynbury Flyer.
